well as Mum says – its “that” time – anytime, anyplace, anywhere… birds and bees and Alpacas for 2020 !

so sad to wave good bye to hubby and son Ollie with the ponies recently… off to stud. as my Mum says “its that sex time of year isn’t it|?” yup – off to stud they went to super experienced stud owners now I wonder where that could be?

looking stunning just from the field… took these just before loading them up all primed ready for the stallion…

can barely wait to see what they produce next year for us – marvellous ponies

Wow – what happened its June? So booked up but managed to fit in some late Husbandry skirting courses later this month on the proviso that we are on cria and foal watch… meantime what vibrant colours appearing…

With our first Draught foal due anytime soon from our mare – they come when they are ready – how beautiful is she?

and so it continues with 3 days of shearing the different herd groups to get through the numbers and a full day to prepare… more girl power though – great stuff! The stud boys still have at 9 years old too!

its not often that you have Clients attend a Shearing – its crazy busy and a military operation but this year we had true Girl Power… a great experience for all and as expected fantastic fleeces… first day shearing first home group…

with the weather swinging, so are the Alpacas and sometimes you have to laugh – whose still standing!

and just whose watching who?

As temperatures soared to 25 degrees again the blues of the skies are a sight to behold… air balloons seeming almost to land at Lock House and aircraft looking like they are caught in our wires let alone the barns… tut tut too low

well if you noticed our absence (you did) we blitzed to Italy for a sneaky weekend away before shearing, mating and birthing starts… (more on that another time)  meantime in great anticipation of the first ever draught foal to be born at Kensmyth we are bagging up…

and in anticipation of the Alpaca being shorn (must be done annually folks) the ponies are assisting too…

well the Alpaca nicknamed “the marketing team” are working their charms on everyone in the last days before shearing that’s for sure…

with Show Alpaca and “paddock” Alpaca its easy to fall in love at Kensmyth…
