Kensmyth now in its 11th year of breeding Alpaca was featured on “This Morning,” in The Times, Telegraph, Guardian and Internationally in 2017. At that time celebrating 10 years of breeding Alpaca, a “one off cool haircut” for the boys in May 2017 who love to be sheared which was removed later in the Summer 2017. Please note that Alpaca MUST be shorn annually for welfare reasons as well as for their precious fleece.
Having commenced Alpaca breeding in 2008, Helen and her family designed and built Kensmyth farm during the winter and floods of 2012, it is now a thriving stud with at times up to and over 50 head of Alpaca.
Entrepreneur and Author, Helen Kendall Smith has had a lifelong career in Sales. Her husband Geoff is a Managing Consultant with the three boys in IT Sales and Film Production.
Since the introduction of Huacaya Alpaca in the UK in just 1996, the UK herd numbers have grown to in excess of 47,000 today.
Farming Alpaca at Kensmyth includes longterm product development of 100% natural British Alpaca
