The heat of this Easter brought the flowers out in full and the Alpaca into the shelters LOL!

as Christians we celebrate Easter and after a hot morning drive out, the beauty around is remarkable. I thought these berries on a tree my mother gave me are symbolic for the blood shed … Happy Easter

sometimes problems seem unsurmountable but when you look at them in a different perspective you realise they really are only miniscule in the true sense of the word… LOL

introducing Alpaca to someone who has never been up close before is one of my greatest pleasures in life but having the opportunity to teach someone how to train an Alpaca to walk on the lead is a husbandry delight to me just as cooking is a culinary delight to others…

I am often talking about “snow heads” versus “show heads”. Snow blindness is a term used for Alpaca that simply cannot see out anymore and behave abnormally because in having peripheral vision they simply cannot see…

this happens more often when the Alpaca are due for shearing but is the favoured “look” in the show ring compared to the Alpaca below who can see clearly as he has less facial fleece…

I have spoken often before of the uses for barren females or females you want to give a years break and leave empty/open for a year.

They simply look after everyone elses cria as if they were their own… this pic says it all really…

I was always taught never to let go of your dreams no matter how many times jealous people tried to steal them away from you… sometimes you can predict events when people have to have secret meetings to hold you back…

how to ensure that your Alpaca halter fits correctly is gentle care and attention… this is not correct as it is too low on the nose… as they are obligate breathers (obliged to breath through nose) and cannot breath through their mouths, the halters must be fitted correctly or they will panic… gentle handling at the outset ensure happy Alpaca
