well somebody I love dearly had a birthday recently and that was my Dad and that is a major achievement being 89 I can tell you. What better way for him to celebrate than becoming a great grandpa again and his daughter (me) becoming a grannie? to show just what she thought of it all.. gorgeous and something to really celebrate for us all 

Moving Field shelters is always a bit tricky with 14ft gates but ours have an overhang that clips down and along with shutting doors and rear windows they are just as fabulous 9 years on..

well they might need varnishing a tadge but still perfect for the Camelids

I love the big sky feel here and the cooler evenings and big blue sky mornings in September..

the beautiful months of the start of Autumn with the fruit on the trees and the crunchy leaves bringing hope, sadness and the promise of the white winter to come.

just a quick word to the wise – Acorns are poisonous to Alpaca. They rarely eat them unless short of grass but Cria can easily choke on them when playing with them – poover them up daily or better still, don’t put your Alpaca in the fields with Oak trees in them. They are still falling.

sometimes it is easy to see who is herd leader and who is not..

and other days it absolutely is not..

sometimes just chilling out is simply the order of the day..

sometimes in life with the weather we have been having, in fact the year we have been having, photographs can simply say it all..

if you did not work this one out – a freak hurricane wind storm in South Cerney that barely hit Cirencester and back to previous weather.

The fruits of the fields are coming in so quickly that it is quite unbelievable. One does not normally pick sloes until after the first frost – so is this going to happen soon with temperatures forecast for nights as low as 2 degrees and we are still August?

meantime with 90 fruit trees on site, never mind the courgettes its plums, pears and apple picking time.. some of our apple trees are really struggling with the weight 

Hard to believe that with everything that has happened this year, looking back on last year, it is now a year since my Mother in law died. What on earth would she have thought of the goings on in 2020 I wonder?

A beautiful rose torn from us a little too soon but nevertheless had a good “innings” as she would have said.
