Kensmyth

Alpaca & Muscovy

Happy birthdays at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow

well thank you to everyone clients, friends, family for all your birthday wishes and gifts – we had a good time!

I especially loved the Ginger cake brought to me in the morning by a friend in the Village and trust me it was gone by teatime Yum…

and the loving card that my hubby bought me (until my sons pointed out it looked like “Wives” plural lol)

but I especially loved the animal themes for all the livestock we have on farm and the Wine cards too…

we had cards from all over the UK and numerous from abroad from clients too so Thank YOU.

April Fools day and hot temperatures and hot hair in the breeze

April has crept upon us – how did that happen, times flies by and days are longer meaning out later too – this weather is bliss. I said we would pay for it and apparently this week will turn back time to winter hail, rain, snow again!

But today on April Fools Day we had the elegant and beautiful… then Daisy due to the wind…

and I feel her pain because my hair is as wild as this in the wind LOL… she tries so hard to look beautiful too!

hot days, cold nights, farmers cautionary tales of snow to come?

We have been so lucky with the weather lately but April is historically wet and often brings snow – so no slacking here at Kensmyth – we are Prepared but you cannot help but enjoy the laziness of the sunshine and the air of expectation for Mums to be…

and lazy Daisy of course…

but we are prepared if it all goes cold again…

  feed and fuel…

Lovely week end for the British Alpaca Society Nationals

Good luck to all competitors this week end in Telford at the British Alpaca Society Nationals, entry is by donation and classes start early. There will be a live feed for those who cannot make it.

look out for all those Show heads… and paddock condition Alpaca…

with fine quality, crimpy fleeces like these…

which you can find on our Kensmyth Alpaca here !

wash and brush up for photo shoots at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow

well we have been preparing the livestock (and the humans) for photoshoots with much hilarity… teasing out tangled manes from the wind and straw from the fleeces where the alpaca have been in…

and there is always one who “photobombs” the picture…

and this is what size 14.5 shoes look like next to size 11’s folks!
