Alpaca & Muscovy

Helen Kendall Smith

working hard on the farm at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow

there is no time to waste in May, with the grass growing madly now

and weeds appearing nearing spraying, all machines to the fore… with my trust 31 year old Toyota…

amazing to think we have had the Kubota G23 High Dump for 11 years now since we first got Alpaca…

they used to make machines to last back in the day

May creeps in like a lamb at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow

gently, gently May crept upon us when we weren’t looking but brought the April showers that the heatwave had dismissed… what will this month really bring I wonder?

Full time on the farm as usual but what a crop of nearly yearlings we have – so proud!

what better day than to take a peek at some fleeces – one handed and not how you should best demonstrate them but no photoshopping or fake lights – just raw on their backs – marvellous…

Walking boys nearly ready at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow

you remember those castrates looking so sorry for themselves a while back? well haltered as cria and starting their retraining just a few weeks ago aged three – take a look at these boys now – marvellous!

With so many people wanting to buy them – I’m still debating if I shall keep them in our own team?
