Greyhound at Siddington, Harrow at Wanborough
low flying helicopters – yes how low?
When your Alpaca run in all directions heavily pregnant as a Chinook flies over at less than 100ft – its pretty scary.
when it continues to do this for two hours circling lower and lower over your barns and homestead…
see what YOU think as to how low it flew…
but apparently that’s perfectly okay – thank goodness no horses were on the road at the time!
Peter May – Coffin Road and Holly Seddon – Try not to Breathe books to read
well we have been crazy busy with harrowing, fertilising, pregnancy final checks and some really low helicopters flying over – more on that next time.
in the meantime, I managed to read a few books and as I barely read anything other than Alpaca books or Curly Coated Retriever books, I thought I would recommend them as they are not my usually literary style…
I did not get on with “girl on a train” but Try not to breathe is a good read if you are not faint hearted.
Coffin Road is an excellent read for anyone and extremely thought provoking about where we are in the world today versus some natural lifestyle choices. With murder and mayhem – I really could not put it down. Well, it did take three months to read as I do not have much reading time but when I got the chance, I could not put it down.

Kensmyth Alpaca Bootie launch Spring 2016 – thanks to all

Birthday celebrations all round – say it with flowers
Celebrity Chef at Kensmyth with Yak
well with the Easter holidays meaning two lanky lads need feeding, what better than the lean mean cuisine provided at home by the super food Yak. many of you will know I am keen on trying different meats that are home produced where the animal has led an outdoor “normal” life and the Yak is one of our favourite meats from friends “oop North”. lean, tasty mince having no fat content… see for yourself!
until you make a fab lasagne…

highs and lows of farming
weather over the last week has been challenging to say the least. thank goodness we invested in Field shelters that don’t blow over in gale force winds as some of our farming friends have done across the countryside nationally!
one of the benefits of the drainpipe off ground system we use to keep feed spread (so you can observe all livestock feeding and what amounts) and off the ground, is that they are also installed inside the field shelters taking very little room…
which whilst this shot was taken when sunny, the weather here was, um, interesting for frogs!
if you cannot read it we had 50 – 70mm of rain overnight !
